Curacao beats Jamaica in Final Caribbean Cup
Curacao winner Caribbean Cup!
Curacao won the final of the Caribbean Cup against Jamaica 2-1 on Sunday June 25 . TD Remko Bicentini lined up the same players he used in the semi-final, except for Dustley Mulder as offensive midfielder. This selection decided the semi-final against Martinique in the second half and Bicentini put his trust in these players. The Curaçao team started the match with confidence and Elson ‘Sontje’ Hooi scored the 1-0 in the 10th minute of the game, boosting Curacao’s confidence even more, The team kept its cool and dominated the Jamaican team. Jamaica needed a goal and after Bicentini substituted Jarchinio Antonia for Gino Van Kessel, Jamaica got its Lucky break and scored after a free kick, awarded after a foul of Van Kessel. That dream did not last long, for 2 minutes later Curacao’s Hooi scored again. Curacao coolly controlled the game and after 4 minutes extra time was crowned as winner of the Caribbean Cup 2017.
TD Remko Bicentini team consisted of Rangelo Janga, Jarchinio Antonia, Elson Hooi and Gevaro Nepomucena, Dustley Mulder and Leandro Bacuna , Gillian Justiana, Darryl Lachman, Quentin Jakoba and Cuco Marina and Eloy Room as goalkeeper.
