Curacao beats Grenada 10-0 in first Nations League qualifier

The winner of the Caribbean Cup 2017 wasted no time in the first match of the CONCACAF Nations League: Elson 'Sontje' Hooi opened the score in the 11th minute of the match. This goal was the start of a great goal party in the SDK Stadium, the home of the Curacao National team. The first half brought a score of 3-0 on the board, after the break the Curacao team got loose with Ruensley Leuteria finishing the math with a great goal in the 91' minute of the match.

Curacao will play its first match in the qualification for the Concacaf Nations League home against Grenada on September 10, 2018. The inaugural tournament is expected to begin in September 2019. The qualifying phase of the 2019–20 CONCACAF Nations League is a one-off tournament that will be played from 6 September 2018 to 26 March 2019. The qualifying will determine the seeding for the group phase of the tournament, as well as determining the remaining ten teams which will qualify for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Each team will play four matches, two home and two away. Based on their results, the teams will be divided into tiers for the group phase of the inaugural edition of the CONCACAF Nations League. The 34 teams were seeded into four pots based on their position in the March 2018 CONCACAF Ranking Index . Curacao holds position 18 in this ranking.
The other three matches for Curacao are planned on October 12 (away against the US Virgin Islands), November 19 (home against Guadeloupe) and March 25 (away against Antigua and Barbuda).
